All-City PTA meeting on Wednesday, October 14th. Our special guest will be Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland who will be speaking on the upcoming Proposition 3: Property and Utility Earnings Tax for Street Improvements. We will also hear from our Legislative Chair Tracy Marander with an update on whats going on in Olympia.
Please invite your membership to this meeting. Invite your school community to this meeting. All are welcomed regardless of PTA membership. This is about advocacy, information and a collective powerhere to edit. Free childcare; door prizes; light refreshments.

Agenda items: Council board elections, 2015-16 budget approval, Standing Rules approval, the Best of our Local PTA Units (come and share what you have done this year that was a success. Inspire others with your ideas and maybe borrow a few new ones for yourself.)
Plus our special guest, Madonna Hanna from Drop Kick the Drama.
She will be speaking on "Civility in the Classroom” covering such items as:
I. Behaviors that build civil relationships with fellow students
A. Do the best job you can and stay on task
B. Do not gossip and refrain from idle complaints
C. Understand individual differences and abilities
D. Respect others time and personal space
E. Avoid personal questions
F. Don't shift responsibility and blame. Accept responsibilities for your actions.
G. Be friendly, agreeable, and inclusive
H. Respect other’s opinion
II. Accept and give praise-always think the best
III. Accept constructive criticism
IV. Do not be a tattletale, but do report inappropriate behaviors and actions.

All-City PTA Meeting: Each local PTA unit should attend send a board representative to each council meeting. Any one is invited to attend and all are welcome. Council business is attended to first with meeting minutes, financials & committee reports followed by special programing. This month we will host Rock Paper Scissors, a support group for men, women, and children who have been traumatized from all forms of abuse and human trafficking.
